This is one easy, very delicious recipe. We grew up on stuff like this in North Dakota :) I just took this recipe in to work the other day (here in Las Vegas) and EVERYONE went nuts over it. So I guess it's a hit everywhere :) I serve it with buttered rolls. MMMM!
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. bacon
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup ketchup
1 TBSP. mustard
16 oz. can kidney beans, undrained
16 oz. can Great Northern beans, undrained
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 TBSP. vinegar
16 oz. can butter beans, undrained
28 oz. can Bush's Baked Beans
1) Fry bacon in a skillet. Drain bacon grease from pan when done frying. When bacon is cooled, break/crumble into small pieces.
2) Brown ground beef in skillet and drain, reserve drippings.
3) Saute onions and celery in ground beef drippings until soft.
4) Combine all ingredients in a crock pot and stir.
5) Cover. Simmer on low for 3-4 hours.
